Great backyard security/wildlife camera with an clever and very strong magnetic ball/socket mounting scheme that works fine. Only offered in white, but a small assortment of camo spray colors from Hobby Lobby fixed that. Very versatile and useful mount. Excellent clarity and color in both day and night photos and videos, super wide viewing angle with surprisingly low distortion. Battery life has so far been better than expected, but also depends a lot on how you set up your motion detection, recording and playback. However, after two weeks of very heavy use and experimenting, and near constant recording, I still have 93% left on the initial charge. I expect to easily get a couple of months or more between battery charges. Very flexible recording schedule options. The camera is easy to set up using phone or iPad, accepts TF size memory cards so no cloud needed. One caveat: I have 5-bar WiFi strength in my back yard, but that's likely due to my three-router TP-Link mesh WiFi system. You should walk around outside with your phone and verify signal levels in the intended area of installation before you order one of these. I have yet to lose WiFi signal or experience a connection failure. Impressive. I have a mix of Tapo and Amcrest security cameras, and I must say I have found Tapo's camera management software easy to use, and light years ahead of Amcrest's crude and clumsy equivalent. I highly recommend this camera and especially TP-Link/Tapo in particular.

This TAPO magnetic mount security camera was easy to set up and connect to my network and devices. I did have to download an application to each tablet or phone I wanted to use to view the video. The app seems to work well enough. The magnet mount is very strong and holds the camera stable and securely. since it is held by just magnetic force, you should mount it well out of reach to prevent theft of the camera.The camera has variable detection ranges, day and night recording, a motion activated light, and voice and siren alarm capability. The battery is advertised to last for up to a year. My camera has been in use for almost three months and is not yet down to 75%. Battery life will be significantly affected by how often it is activated by motion detectioin. Your battery life may vary.I read online magazine reviews from PC Magazie and others before I ordered this camera. It was highly rated by them and is highly recommended by me.

Tapo surveillance camera solved our dilemma. We finally found a way to get the protection needed without power.This camera actually lasts 4 – 6 months on a charge depending on the activity. Thankfully activity can be controlled by the cameras built in detection software. Additionally limited use of the built in flood lights extends battery life.You're also able to differentiate between animals, people, cars and general movement. Additionally you can choose detection zones for each of these object types separately. These options allow for minimizing, “hits” which greatly improves time between charges. The app also notifies you if there are on abnormally high number of hits allowing to make the necessary adjustments to extend battery life.I should also note that a compatable solar panel is an available option when the camera must be located in a hard to get to location thus eliminating the need for charging.The camera base mounted easily to the stucco exterior of our garage. The camera attaches to the base with a very strong magnet. Adjustment is very simple. (See the picture)The Tapo application (for Android and IPhone) makes managing all of the features a breeze. In addition once installed the camera will automatically appear in your Amazon Alexa app so that you are able to view any of the captured video right from Alexa without touching Tapo.The need to remove the camera from the magnetic mount for periodic charging is the only negative so far. It is not easy to get it back into the exact position it was in so that all of the detection zones are not changed.Overall I would highly recommend this camera especially in circumstances where there is no power available.
