I like this thing. A lot.
I am loving this thing. I have always been a controller guy until I bought Doom Eternal, and it was obvious from the very first level that this game was made with mouse and keyboard in mind and I decided it was time to make the switch and I'm really glad I did. I stopped playing the game and waited for this to arrive, along with the Corsair Harpoon gaming mouse. It took A LONG time to start feeling comfortable with the new set up but once it started to click it made all the difference in the game. The learning curve for me was huge, maybe the biggest one I've had to go through in decades for gaming, but it was worth it. This keypad is great.I bought this used from a seller here, something I don't normally do but the price was more than half off the new price and I knew it was a gamble that I might not take to it and go back to controller, which would have made this a waste of money. I feel like I got lucky, the used product of this looks brand new and is in great shape, and since it worked out and I ended up loving the keypad it was money well spent.I specifically went with the Tartarus because I really liked the idea of having the thumb stick, and I feel like that was a good move. In Doom Eternal, now I can control the Slayer in a way I'm already familiar with while freeing up the rest of the keyboard and my fingers to the different melee attacks and switching equipment. That way I don't have to move my fingers all over the keyboard as I normally would have had to, fumbling around hoping I hit the right keys. The learning curve was huge for sure and for awhile, I probably put in enough time in the first three levels over and over again trying to get accustomed to the new control style as it would take someone else to actually beat the entire campaign, but once it all clicked, I can't imagine playing a game like this any other way and I already knew from the first level that a controller was a huge disadvantage. In regards to the quality of the actual device- it's solid. The keys all have a great feel and click to them, and the thumb stick has the exact same feel. It feels like pushing a key on the board with the mechanical click and all in every direction, it's great feedback to know you're pushing it in the right direction and for learning how to use it. It's also very comfortable to use, and the wrist rest beneath the keyboard reduces any normal strain I would feel by hovering my hand over a typical keyboard. And lastly if you care, the rgb lighting on this is good and bright and every color in the rainbow is represented just fine. I don't care that much about this, but I know some freaks do so there you go.To summarize, this purchase was worth every penny. The keyboard is solid, it feels solid, it is quality. The thumb stick works great and I really struggle to find anything to complain about here. I can see this falling short on games with tons of keybinds, and Doom Eternal is really pushing it in that regard, but it still worked out great with just enough keys to accommodate all the things you need to do. Purchasing this along with a gaming mouse has changed the way I play a game like this and for the better. Highly recommended, especially if you can get one at the used price I did if it shows up at your door in the condition mine did.On a quick side note I do want to point out that Windows 10 by default had this keypad configured to shut down randomly to preserve power in the device settings. You're going to want to figure out how to go into the USB options and make sure to uncheck the box letting Windows do that because if you don't this will disconnect randomly out of nowhere for like fifteen seconds here and there, and obviously that is not ideal unless you like losing due to some technical crap.

Perfection. Absolute Perfection.
I cannot put into words how unbelievably incredibly this product is. I legit want to be Razor's new spokesperson after what this thing has gone through and it still works perfectly. Let me explain for those who are wondering if this product is worth buying:I've owned this product for over 2 years now and it has changed my gaming experienced in ways that only divine intervention could achieve. A couple months ago, I was playing a game and was really in the mood for some egg nog, given the holiday spirit. I poured a red Solo cups full of nog (which is 16 oz of egg nog, by the way), walked it from my kitchen to my room, tripped over my dog as I entered my bedroom, and proceeded to spill every drop of the nog directly into the keys of my Razor gamepad. I thought my $2,500 computer would explode, but instead, nothing happened.I quickly unplugged my Razor, ran to the kitchen, turned the sink on full blast, and drenched this glorious contraption in water. I know you're not supposed to submerge electronic products, but it was either the water, or the thick, sugary, sticky, goopy egg nog, and I chose water. I rinsed it out for about 20 minutes and then shook the water out into a towel. I realized there was probably still some drops of water inside and didn't want to plug it back in and test it while it was still wet.So I set up a table in front of a space heater and decided to leave it there for 10 or 15 minutes. When I returned, HALF OF THE RAZER WAS MELTED ABD WARPED BY THE SPACE HEATER. Apparently the heater was on high and I set the Razer too close to it. At this point, I start going through all the stages of grief. I'm angry, crying, laughing, depressed, bartering with God Himself, and eventually just accept the fact that I will have to buy a new baby.I spend the next 24 hours wallowing in sorrow as I lost the only true love of my life. The next day I plug in my warped, twisted, previously egg nog filled Razer, and by the grace of God Almighty, it powers on. The buttons click perfectly, everything is responsive, nothing is wrong whatsoever. It has been two months since that incident and I have not encountered a single issue. And I game A LOT. This beautiful piece of hand crafted machinery is the greatest purchase I have ever made. Now, onto the other reasons you won't regret buying this incredible gamepad:1. Unbelievably comfortable.2. You'll never have to change in-game controlls, you simply change your own controls on the gamepad (which means you can leave your game control settings as default).3. Looks stunning in your desk. The lights are so much fun to play around with infinite possibilities.4. Built like a tank (as discussed above).5. Macros are a breeze to set up. Just make sure the game you're playing allows macros and won't ban you for using them.6. The Razer synapse (the program you use to set everything up) is intuitive and constantly expanding.7. Easily portable and can take to friend's houses to make their set up feel like your own. This product is an 11/10 and I would recommend it to literally anybody and everybody.

Great gaming key-pad. Just hope you don't need Razer support
I like the fact that it has a good number of keys and the thumbpad that not all keypads have can be used for directional play in games. Not a fan of WASD or arrow keys....just map them to the thumb-stick.I couldn't play the games that I do play now without it or at least, something like it.Not a fan of the software requiring an internet connection. They should be able to save profiles to the hardware or at least locally. If you are using it and lose internet, you're probably fine. If you boot the PC when the internet is down and want to play a local game...it may be hit or miss.I had the original one, the Nostromo. It's software did not need an internet connection but I never had issues with it so I figured I'd go for the new "updated one"This is actually the 2nd Tartarus V2 I purchased. I had an issue with the thumb pad and one of the directions stopped working, You could see it, you could even hear it. Contacted Razer support and I must have sent nearly 20 e-mails. Each time I get a new rep and they ask the same basic questions over and over again. It was quicker to purchase a new one than to get the 1st one fixed. Eventually they relented and gave me an RMA. Got the replacement after a few weeks. Now I have 2 working units and I should be all set for a while.Update: A year + later and now both 1st and 2nd units have the same issue with the thumbpad. Original one won't go right at all and the new one needs to be muscled into the diagonal position up/right. I need to see if I can take it apart because I'm not dealing with those people at razer support again. Doesn't seem to be easy to get to the thumbpad.
