Not a fan of the Lego "mini Ikea funiture" type kits but this one is cool
I know people love their Lego and the "pre-fab" kits with the millions of little pieces and complicated instructions that are kind of a hobbyist version of putting together tiny Ikea furniture over and over again are super popular with kids and even many adults. I mean, isn't it kind of ironic that they actually made a movie about how the kits destroy creativity ... and it was called "The Lego Movie"? I can't really stand them myself. My kids went through the same Lego phase most kids go through and we got a bunch of kits (some costing up to $100+) that the kids spent a few hours putting together. And sure, they sort of had fun. And then we had these ... "pieces of art" that took up immense shelf space in their rooms. And in my office. Etc. And, of course, the kids got instantly bored with them, but didn't want to get rid of them. But finally, after a great while, I finally tossed most of them in secret - what a waste. But I digress. This one - Starry Night - is actually pretty cool. Easily one of my favorite paintings of all time. Had fun putting together the kit with my daughter. Sort of. And when it was done we displayed it on the wall and it looks, well, I don't know, pretty cool, I guess. Anyway, if you have to engage in this type of consumer waste generating, eye strain inducing, expensive "hobby," then I would recommend this particular kit.

Lego is awesome!
This is amazing! I didn't think it was a 3D kind of set. There were a few spots I had trouble with but got through them. You will love this set!! I completed The Great Wave which is also amazing. I hope you love it as much as I do!!

Stop debating it and (Van) Gogh get one!
I bought this set thinking, “I’m an adult. I can handle this.” Four hours later, I was knee-deep in blue bricks and self-loathingBy the time I finished, I felt like I’d gone on a spiritual journey through a plastic Van Gogh fever dream. Now my living room radiates the chaotic genius of a 19th-century art prodigy who got loose in a LEGO factory. Also…. I think my cat judges me less now.Pros:-Looks amazing on the wall.-Brings out your inner tortured artist.-Excellent excuse to not answer texts for 3–5 business days.Cons:-I now pronounce “Lego” like it’s French.-I keep calling my house “the studio.”If you’re looking for a set that’s beautiful, challenging, and might convince you to start painting and brooding in a straw hat—this is it.
