Surprisingly powerful for a 150 watt wireless sub.
I added this sub in a large room expecting a just "OK" listening experience. I matched it temporarily with some powered Klipsch stereo speakers while waiting for some full surround system parts to arrive. The "kick" and rumble I wanted was produced at a level and clear sound quality that shocked me a bit considering the size and wattage of this sub. It comes with a very easy to set up plug and play wireless transmitter you simply plug into the sub output on your receiver or powered speakers. In my case the connection took about 20 seconds to succeed. This is well built and good looking in typical Klipsch style. Instead of the dual 400 watt subs I was thinking about for my new system I'm so impressed with these relatively inexpensive subs that I've decided to get another. I'm no audiophile, but to my "normal" ears these really sound great for the cost.

Good wireless integration, muddy crossover.
It's not as crisp as one would desire, particularly to call itself a reference speaker. The wireless connectivity is seamless, and a reason to buy it you have the need. The variable crossover is useful, but the sound is still muddy.Even at the lowest crossover level, the location is still identifiable.Update: It completely eliminates the need for a sound bar.Your hopefully decent sound quality on your tv, combined with the right crossover and volume adjustment on this is an excellent, not in your face, should solution. The muddiness augments the lack of mid bass coming in most TV's.Far lower cost than a sound bar with remote subwoofer.

Plug and play
I wanted a wireless subwoofer for my TV room so I gave this a try. Super simple. I plugged in the little wireless unit to the subwoofer port on my receiver and placed the subwoofer under an end table on the other side of the room (approx. 15 feet away). It paired immediately. Excellent sound quality. I've been using it for 10 days and it's never lost connection. Absolutely perfect.

Sounds awesome, just not at higher volumes.
Sounds good, hits the lows, just doesn't have much "oomph" at high volumes. I have this sub outside in my breezeway with a pair of Klipsch AW-650's, and it simply doesn't have the volume to keep up. I've ordered an R-12SW to see if it'll sound better/louder, but I will be returning one or the other.Note that I'm giving it 4 stars based on my expectation vs. reality ONLY because it sounds quite distorted at medium-high volumes with ¼ - ⅓ gain, and simply isn't playable any higher than that. It is NOT based on unrealistic expectations of it filling my back yard with bass. Most people will be absolutely pleased with it in a 5.1 setup inside, but just know that it struggles at higher volumes, regardless of environment.
