Very easy to install XM plus receiver!👍🏼
I always get XM plus receiver for 6 years since I started FPV system back on 2015, and I never have problem with XM plus receiver, and this time, this one I'm having problem bind it in, even I did the update firmware on this XM plus receiver and did few tricks to get it bind in, but it never works! First time, first XM plus receiver in 6 years that I have problem first time and I had to return this to frsky and they was taken care of me immediately and sent me new one and I'm getting new one in 2 weeks and I'm glad with their service! Thanks frsky teams for your helpful solved my issue with this XM plus receiver!!👍🏼

Fantastic little receiver
I have now bought 4 of these receivers. They are really great little receivers that use Sbus and only need to connect 3-4 wires to get it to work with your flight controller. I've used these on my drone builds and they are easy to install and setup. Although I have not even tried to update the firmware on any of mine but they still work perfectly out of the box. Only gripe I have is the RSSI pad is super tiny and can sometimes be a pain to get a wire soldered onto it but other than that this is a really great little receiver especially if your trying to save space in your quad!

Firmware needs to be flashed for TX16S - Instructions below
I was banging my head against a wall with this receiver until I found out it's not me, its the firmware that is loaded upon buying. So I went to the downloads page from FrSky and in the downloads there is a smaller, more hidden option/menu for history firmware downloads. Click that and then download that folder. There will be 6 files or so. You need the one that says "XM+ FCC170313-RSSI16.frk.To flash the firmware I took the microSD card and connected it to my computer with a card reader and dropped that one file into the firmware folder. Put the SD card back into the remote and flashed it. I pressed the system button and page right buttons until I reached SD card. Opened the folder. Found the firmware. Flashed Externally.I recommend grabbing some electronics wires with dupont connectors (Square pegs female endings to slide onto pins) or servo wire. You need three wires and I soldered three of these connectors on the +,-, and S bus terminals. The dupont connectors I connected in the back of the TX there is a plate that can be removed and in the bottom right there are 5 pins. Starting from the bottom going up, I connected data, negative, positive. and then went along with the normal binding instructions. Hope that helps fellow people.

Fed up with R9 system
I just got really burnt out on the whole r9 system, needing firmware updates like every other day just to make your radio work as it did the same before. Flex? No Flex? ACCESS? ACCST?And even if you know how to flash the modules and receivers, they can still break. And then getting them to bind can be a pain in the ass.I am not saying every R9 system is bad. I just had a really bad experience with R9, although that can be said about a lot of my FPV gear. Maybe if I upgraded to a 2019 R9, it might help. That being said, I never fly anywhere near the limits of the xm+. Dirversity antennas, Have I mentioned ease of installation?

***Will Not Bind!****
*****BUYERS BEWARE!****This RX absolutely will not Bind and is a PAIN to hassle with. I have tried to update to all firmwares, still wont bind. I have a standard Frsky qx7 transmitter, so there is no excuses for this. I am on day 8 and probably 48 hours worth of work into this RX trying to fiddle with it to get it to bind. Before you buy, just buy from either the official website or search another receiver, save yourself from wasted time and money.***UPDATE***In order for this RX to work, you MUST download the old version of software from the FrSky website, which you can find by going to the Firmware D16 section and scrolling down and finding the word “Download”, click on that. It then gives you a old version of XM+ software from 2017, called “XM+170313”, then flash extenal device from remote with the “FCC” version of software. Then, and only then, will this reciever bind to your controller because these are from 2016. OR SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND BUY FROM THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE ON FRSKY!!!!!!!!!!!

Great low priced full range 16 channel SBUS capable receiver
Great low priced full range 16 channel SBUS capable receiver compatible with FrSky transmitters. Be aware that this receiver doesn't have any telemetry features but if you're using an OSD this isn't a big deal. Plus, this receiver is capable of transmitting RSSI over channel 16 but you have to enable RSSI on channel 12 in Betaflight as the first 4 channels are for AETR. Also firmware has to be updated in order to use this feature but there are videos on youtube that walk you through how to do this using your FrSky transmitter. Also, I recommend adding a dab or two of hot glue to the antenna plugs to ensure that they don't disconnect in a crash. I have used these on four builds now and I honestly don't have a single complaint.

tiny, but mighty
I taped this to a thin arm on my drone and it looks like it’s not even there. I wish it came with shrink wrap but a little more electrical tape never hurt anybody. Haven’t tested the range but i’m sure it’ll be great for freestyle at least!

Great receiver. Highly recommend for builds that have 2 specific considerations
I love the range, the price, the size and the weight. I also love how well it performs and has never have me a fail safe even with only one antenna. What I hate are the antennae as well as the antennae connectors. I have 3 of these receivers and none have both plugs remaining forcing me to use ok mul l one antenna. I get as much range as I need but I'd still live to have the reassurance of diversity. I also dislike not having telemetry without having to flash firmware onto the PCB using a PC that I don't have. Third the plastic bubble for the bind button always comes off. It hasn't caused any problems for me just annoys me that the receivers I'm using aren't as they should be with telemetry. 2 antennas, a bind button and an anti-crash sensor. I'll manage though. All in all the XM+ is a great FrSky receiver for $13. I would recommend it for any FrSky SBUS application where size and budget are considerations. I'm ordering another today. I'm content with its faults just wish I didn't have to be.
