C.S.Osborne &Co. No. 763 Staple Lifter (2 1/4" Blade, Red Handle)

We are remodeling and after removing the builder grade linoleum and cement board subfloor we were left with hundreds of staples. Initially it took me 45 minutes to do a 4x8 floor section. After my hand went sore using pliers a small pry and flathead screwdriver I gave up and went in search of a proper tool and ordered this and a few others in case this one failed me. To my surprise I managed to pull a staple instantly without much effort and managed to finish the entire kitchen in about 60 minutes. The tool has a sharp and pointy edge which is perfect for boring through any left over cement board material that is still bonded to the staple. After pulling a few hundred staples the tool maintained its shape and edge. Someone please give C.S Osborne and Co. a medal for useful and simple designed tool. This is one of the best tools in my tools box now.

Impressively thick and sturdy. It was hard to judge from the pic supplied by Amazon. I could pry an interior door open with this. I didn't buy this for the intended purpose of staple removal. I bought it to use as a pocket prying tool as a maintenance technician. This will be great for prying open small electronics as well as prying apart glued and corroded stuff. I enjoy having an intentional prying tool so I don't misuse my flatheads. This is the best prying tool for my purposes I've found yet. I'm a sucker for old school acetate handles and this translucent red is just beautiful. I feel like I need to buy a few more of these.

We took the carpet off our stairs to reveal beautiful hardwood floors underneath, along with what appeared to be at least 2 layers of carpet nails (you could tell by the color of padding that was stuck under them that they weren't from the most recent carpet) I removed a large amount with needle nose pliers-my hands were aching after a few hours of pulling them and I still had a ton more to do. Went to Home Depot and bought every tool we thought might work-nothing worked that didn't do damage to the floor while getting them out. My husband found this little thing on Amazon and it was a miracle. Pulled the nails up so easily and no pain in my hands. Way better than using pliers. If you are pulling carpet nails-you need this.

This staple lifter remover does the trick for removing staples on especially hard to get places for the individual who is in the upholstery business. Used this for removing seat covers on my golf cart. It worked great. Made the job of pulling hundreds of staples much easier and not something to dread. Very well-made. Held up to the task nicely. Ordered a second one so I can have one in my tool box and one with my staplers.

I have tried a half dozen tools or more for large quatities of staple removal. I had one very old tack puller which worked fairly well but it was a hard tedious process. I received this today and it finished a the other half of a row I had been working on pretty much steady for a couple of days. This tool makes it easy to get under the staples and pulls them right up. It's still work but not near as much. To some it up, Easy getting under staple, less slippage and a fraction of the time spent using other tools. This thing is sharp. Probably a good idea to protect your hands. I have one more tool that I want to try but this one is definitely a keeper. Looks like it would be easy to sharpen it if get dull. The right size for women's hand as well. I noticed one review that thought it was over priced for what you get. If you have done much with upholstery staples you would not complain about the cost on this which was much less than many other staple pullers out there and it does a much better job than the ones I have used so far. I may get another just to put my son on the staple pulling job.

It's decent. Not sure the utility justifies the cost.

I had to pull up literally thousands of staples from my kitchen floor. This tool worked like a champ. Worked great. I tried every other method you can think of but finally bought this tool and I'm thrilled that I did. Well constructed and easy to use. I would buy it again if I had too but mine still works great.
