Q: So it only works if the battery comes out???thats dumb what if you just lose it in woods or brush with battery still in?

I can tell your new to fpv, this will work as a buzzer, you canset in betaflight , so a switch on your controller will turn on the buzzer. This will be much louder then the motors buzzing. It will work when the battery is installed, it works best when the battery disconnects, Which makes it much harder to find as , you cannot use the buzzer switch because the battery is disconnected.

11mm wide and 12mm tall. Although the height could vary due to the battery. Mine is closer to 13mm tall because the battery is a little tilted inside the heat shrink.

Q: I see 3 wires in the included connector, is it wired to ground, 5V, and battery voltage?

The three wires are: ground, buzzer positive (5V) and buzzer negative. Your flight controller must support a buzzer option in order to configure a manual switch. Otherwise, just connect ground and 5V and the buzzer will sound only when battery voltage is lost. I hope that makes sense.

Q: This thing beeps nonstop when i plug my flight controller into the computer. Is there any way to disable that?

I think it is your betaflight setting issue, you can try to look at failsafe setting or low voltage warning setting in betaflight.
