Worked perfect
When I took it to my mechanic, he told me to buy this kit. When it was time to replace all components it was totally different. Things weren't matching to what my truck had. He even called Yukon and explained the situation. But they even told him that is what the truck called for. At the end it did work with some adjustments. It's been 2 week since I got the truck back and it feels and sounds great. Would recommend

GREAT Bearing kit and Carrier-got a bad set of gears though
The carrier was in fact a Yukon Dura Grip clutch style limited slip unit. The bearing kit was complete andappears to be of some quality. I did have a problem with the gear set however... I got it set up correctly using a .037" pinion shim, and shimmed the carrier for .0085" back-lash. The pattern is perfect as checked with marking compound on both the drive and coast side. Perfectly centered from root to crown, and just ever so slightly closer to the toe side than the heel. A text book example of what the pattern should look like. We used Valvoline gear oil and Motorcraft limited slip additive. On the first road test as soon as the vehicle started rolling at speeds of 20mph+ you could hear gear noise. It never got better for that 5 mile road test. We pulled the cover after the road test and the pattern now imbedded on the gears is PERFECT... But the gears are shedding metal to the point the fluid is gray... After only 5 miles.. I suspect the gears were NOT heat treated as my back-lash opened up to .0105" in 5 miles and excessive wear on the gear teeth on both the coast and drive side. The gears were in a plain white box and I should have suspected they were not Yukon as the box that the gears were in was NOT marked Yukon Gear on it.. Just like a plain box you would get from... dare I say it... China. I'm now having to buy a REAL set of Yukon gears to replace the gears that came with this package. The price was too good to be true and I should have known better. Carrier is working perfectly though! In case it matters I've been building rear differentials for over 25 years now as part of my job at a drive-line repair shop.

Packaging not the best
The bearings, races, shims, and miscellaneous escaped the packaging and were laying in the bottom of the box. Everything seems to be ok. My son, Who is the installer, says not to worry. I guess we’ll find out after we get it all in and do the break in.Other than that, everything seems ok.

This is an excellent posi. I put it in my '01 chevy ...
Strictly reviewing on the Yukon posi. This is an excellent posi. I put it in my '01 chevy 1500 p/u and (with proper tires of course) I go just about anywhere in 2wd. Being clutched it is extremely quiet, never have heard it make any noise. I have had it in for 6 years now. Just make sure you put a respectable brand posi fluid additive in or it won't last long. I also highly recommend dealing with Randy's Ring and Pinion in Everett, WA. Very knowledgable great pricing. Dad's been dealing with them for 20+ years.

The good, the duragrip posi performs amazingly and without flaws
The good, the duragrip posi performs amazingly and without flaws. Its a very well constructed piece of machinery absolutely no complaints about the carrier. The bad... After following the break in procedures provided with the ring and pinion, using the correct lube, backlash set, and pinion depth set perfect I logged less than 5000 miles on this set up and chipped a tooth on the pinion 1000 miles from home! I couldn't believe that this soon a rear end went out. After limping to a shop I was informed that it was the rear end. I didn't believe them and went in the back to listen, then we removed the cover and I laid my eyes on a pinion missing a tooth and its tooth stuck to the magnet on my diff cover. Buy your carrier from Duragrip but get your ring and pinion elsewhere.

Shipping was fine. But
Shipping was fine. But, just like all the reviews say this unit is very noisy. No matter what you do you can not get the noise to go away. I'm a mechanic and have installed many rear ends. This thing has been checked and checked. Also ring and pinion is the same.
