I keep this compass on my keychain to quickly assess which way I'm facing before I start navigating with Google Maps. It's a bit larger than I expected but still comfortably fits in my pocket. The plastic face feels soft; I expect that it will get scratched over time. In addition, the carabiner isn't incredibly secure--the compass has already come unclipped once and fallen off my keychain (luckily it was turned into lost & found), so I'm looking for a way to attach it directly to the key ring. However, it's much better quality than other key chain compasses that I've seen, including the Silva Metro that I recently wore out. Compared side-by-side to my $70 racing compass, it is accurate and reasonably responsive. I'm comfortable relying on it for hikes and walks around town, but I wouldn't count on it for backpacking. Most compasses will develop bubbles if exposed to extreme heat, so don't leave any compass (including this one) in a hot car. Overall, it's just what I was looking for, but I'll be interested to see how durable it is after riding around in my purse and pocket for a few months.

THE QUALITY OF THE COMPASS SEEMS VERY GOOD, COMPLETELY SATISFIED, ONLY ISSUE IS THE POINTER TIPS ARE RED ON ONE END AND WHITE ON THE OTHER. THERE IS NO EXPLAINATION WITH THE ITEM TO DESCRIBE WHICH END OF THE POINTER TO USE WHEN DETERMINING DIRECTION.

Great quality has been holding up well in the Fl heat and humidity for two months trekking in / thru swamps and state parks, would be better if it had a rotating bezel.

The media could not be loaded. The compass is nice, really worked for a short period of time, it is liquid filled, unfortunately it developed a bubble inside during a flight on a warm day that interferes with the free movement of the needle. I am not sure if the seller is willing to replace it.

This is a great little "quick view" compass! It's attached to my backpack shoulder strap at chest level, so it's easy to grab and determine direction. The carabiner clip is robust and secures the compass just fine.
