Way better quality than the check valves I used to buy at the hardware store. Mine came with a set of replacement o-rings. Installed in a shallow well a couple months ago. No problems yet!

Very well Engineered and constructed! I installed this horizontally in one of my pool lines. The check ball automatically reverts to closed position when the pump shuts off. Next to zero pressure loss and the valve prevents reverse flow from my filter to pump. Works beautifully! My only negative comment is Hydroseal does not sell spare parts. The threads on the Union are not standard. So if you make a mistake while installing or need to repair in the future, you need to purchase a new check valve. Defeats the purpose of purchasing an expensive valve. Hydroseal, PLEASE start selling spare parts! Customers have been asking for the past three years!

I am using mine in my fish tank. My only complaint is they only had 1, 1 inch check valve. I need two. So for now I am only running one. With it oriented horizontal, you get no vibrations. It is silent. I couldn't be happy with it. I only wish they would get more 1 inch check valves in stock.

This thing worked very well for a couple of weeks. I did not notice that it has a small leak... I leave my house for the weekend and came back to a lovely lake in the living room after a power outage (I used it in my reef tank).After the living room issue, the plastic ball inside is just bouncing back and forth, doing a loud noise that can be heard from any room in the house, specially during sleeping time. I've tried increasing the flow of the return pump to 100% (8K LPH), and the noise doesn't go away. The only thing that works is disassembly the whole valve, which takes a lot of effort and time: removing the return nozzle inside the display tank, installing a plug, turn the return pumps off and then I can remove the check valve.... so, I clean everything inside and assemble it properly (using the specification PDF) , after proper installation the noise goes away... until I feed my fish and turn the return pumps off for 10min. After the pump turns on, the noise start over again and there is no way to quiet it, unless I disassembly the valve again!I have a dual return pumps system, both check valves are vertical oriented, I bought a different check valve for the other pump and it works flawlessly, even when the flow rate is at 20%, and zero leaks.I wish I could ship it back, but my return period has ended.

Mounted it vertical, worked ok for a few minutes then leaked all the water out. Tried it numerous times still leaks out all the water quickly. Useless as a check valve.

I needed a non-tensioned ball valve that would allow me to combine a heat pump water heater’s condensate drain with a pressure relief valve on a common pipe to the outdoors. Mounted vertically in the condensate drain line, this style check valve presents no obstruction to the free flow of condensate. Should the relief valve operate, the sudden pressure on the check valve’s outlet forces the ball to seat upward on the top seal preventing the relief water from blowing back up into the heat pump unit, directing it out the common line to outdoors. This valve is of high quality construction and can be disassembled if it ever needs cleaning.

so when i was dumb and installed it backwards it was easy to flip it around because it's easy to disassemble. I used this to let a de-humidifier drain into the same drain my sump pump uses so the de-humidifier creates a constant drip and the sump occasionally bursts a high volume of water - this stops the sump from pumping back into the de-humidifier but lets the trickle from it flow through.
