Works great for cast iron skillets
I use cast iron pans all the time. I likely don't take a good of care of them as I should and this helps me out a ton. it's stiff enough to help get food off of the pans, the pad in the middle makes it easy to grip and get it to fit into the corners of the pan. overall these least for ~ 6 months for me as I use them a lot. Clean up is easy you just put them in the top rack of the dishwasher once in a while and they are back to clean. If you use cast iron give these a try you will like them.

Get this tool if you use cast iron fry pans. This will keep them clean and smooth.
I use this several times a week for one of my two Lodge skillets. When something sticks to the pan this quickly removes the spot and keeps the pan smooth. Easy to clean and instead of damaging the surface it restores it to an even smooth surface. Best tool to keep my cast iron fry pans in the best condition.

Works well but the price is crazy IMHO
I really like using these chain mail scrubbers on my cast iron. My only complaint is the price of this one.

Great on Cast Iron Pans with Stuck on Food!
If you have cast iron pans you need this scrubbing pad. Let's face it, if get a little lazy in cleaning your cast iron pan and leave it overnight. It can get tough to remove bits of food that was left behind. Some hot water and this scrub pad will make this job a lot easier.I do not think you can go wrong with having this scrub pad to clean cast iron.Let's be real, if you are not using your cast iron pans correctly, meaning the seasoning has been stripped away or you have done something like using dish soap on the pan. This scrubber will help you clean up, but you need to season your pan again. Don't neglect your cast iron. And if you need good information on seasoning or caring for cast iron, go to the Lodge website. It is a great resource.

Tool is Good, but...
I saw this ad showing a person scouring their iron skillet with this thing. Yikes! The scrubbing pad works but...do you really want to scrape off the patina you work hard for that the pan be "non-stick?"Of course, not!I rarely, if ever have food stick to my iron pans because I maintain them. On that occasion, I prefer the "old way." >>> I allow the pan to cool then set into the sink. I put a 1/2 tsp of Dawn dishwashing liquid in the bottom without water. Next, heat a kettle of water to a boil. When boiled, pour the water in the pan and allow to sit for ten minutes. With a medium texture plastic kitchen brush, scrub over the surface. The pan is clean in seconds. Rinse well and completely dry.Put the pan on a medium-low heat burner, add a teaspoon of avocado oil to the bottom and wipe around the entire pan with a paper towel before the pan gets too hot. Heat until the oil just begins to smoke. Remove heat. When reasonably cool, wipe off the excess oil and completely cool prior to storing away.

Easy to use and Super Effective
I've seen the chainmail rags you can buy, but they seemed cumbersome and not really interesting. It wasn't until I was watching a cooking channel on Youtube last night that he mentioned the chainmail sponges. This sponge is fantastic. Note: it's not actually a sponge, but it looks like one. It's a silicone rectangle that has hexagon-like holes inside to help water run through the material. It was easy to grib, moderate weight, and sturdy. It took off multiple levels of cooking (no cleaning except a quick paper towel wipe) gunk with ease. I did not use very much effort (no sweat broken kind of effort) and was doing consistent swirles with water in the pan. Now, it did leave my pan a little dry looking afterward (see pictures), but that is expected. From what I learned, this is not a process you want to do all the time. If done often, act lightly to avoid taking off seasoning. To be fair, my cast iron was recently bought, so it does not have a lifetime of use built up.Highly recommend this product. Just made the thought of cleaning my cast iron far less stressful.

my new little buddy!!
Love my steel mesh scrubbing pad. When I received it I said,"this is going to totally scratch my pots and pans and cast iron..." I fried pork chops in my cast iron and had stuck on crumbles from breading after cooking. "My buddy was used and in 3 seconds all was clean from the cast iron. NO SCRATCHES!! SO I cautiously used it on my trimontina pots and same thing happened. Then! IT IS DISHWASHER SAFE!!! You have all got to get one. My scrapping pans and soaking them are over. Absolutely will never do without one. Brillo pads will never be bought again...............
