Solid performing stereo speakers at a reasonable price.
I had my old speaker for almost 40 years and they finally wore out. These Klipsch speakers were a pretty close match in size any are pretty affordable. These speakers are a bit large for “bookshelf” but they should be on stands so they can be positioned in the room where they sound best. There is a port on the back and quite a bit of difference in the bass registers results from how close the speakers are to walls or hard objects. The included manual has basic tips for positioning. The front grilles are held on with magnets snd can be easily removed if desired. The grilles do not seem to affect the sound much, so either on or off is OK.The speakers arrived well protected with plastic wrap and styrofoam in a sturdy box. Setup is easy. I just had dropped attach the speakers to my existing amplifier. The binding posts on the speakers do not have banana jacks. The thumb screws tighten directly over the incoming wires. Jumpes may be removed to allow woofers and tweeters to be attached to separate amplifiers but that probably isn’t worth doing on compact speakers such as these.Sound quality is pretty good. There seems to be a little emphasis towards the bass end of then sound spectrum. I like to add about 2 dB of emphasis above 2.5 KHz on my preamp to get the sound I like. Changing room position might help, but I am limited for space where I can put the speakers. Over all, I would say the speakers are pretty neutral snd should be good for listening to most types of program material. The sensitivity of the speakers is good and they can be turned up to louder thsn needed with a small amplifier. I have them attached to an older Adcom GFA-555 which puts out more than 100 Watts/channel. It might be a good idea to use an in-line fuse holder with a 3.5 amp fast blow fuse in series with the speaker to help prevent damage to the tweeter in case the amp overloads, for example an input comes loose and picks up loud AC hum.Over all these are pretty solid performing well made speakers and a good value for the money. The speakers should last a long time as long as they are protected from overloads with would subject them to over 100 Watts. There is a newer generation of this model, but it costs more. This model still satisfactory.

Big bookshelves
Still in there infancy. I heard about a dip in the efficiency of these speakers on YouTube, if you run Dirac live even the version that comes with avr’s, it takes care of that dip. They are large for bookshelf speakers. Bass is ok, you will still need a subwoofer for sufficient bass. They aren’t bright sounding for Klipsch. I happen to be a Klipsch fan, with surrounds and 2 heights from them. If you’re looking for great sound for less than $400, you can’t go wrong with the Klipsch RP-600m’s.

Bright sound
Paired these speakers with a set of JBL E-100 towers and a vintage Panasonic SX-3800 60 wpc. I love these running speakers paired together, the higher fidelity KLipsch with the more mid range and bassier JBL's make music together. However running on their own I found them lacking in music venues, with higher sounding instruments as classical they did fine along with guitar solo's they shine but needed a push to fill in a void and that's where the other speakers come in. Don't get me wrong, if I didn't have the JBL's I would still survive...say 75% mid and bass 99% high for 87 total. Cost wise what can you say, they were 1/2 price and with $130 Amazon points I couldn't say NO at $115/speaker. The upgrade was $650+, and I've seen the charts effectively working the condition with the midrange issue, however again it wasn't an issue so much because my intent was pairing all along. I'd say they are better as the volume increases holding their own with clear distinction, listening for voices is easy to pick out and cymbals, they're a great fill in, hope that helped some if your deciding...then again they might have been discontinued by now.

Rp600m ebony
These rp600m ebony speakers arrived new and undamaged in a timely manner, especially for the distance between the shipping origin and my location. These were purchased just prior to a pair of new rp500ms of the walnut color. Color was not an issue at the discounted prices. The rp600m speakers are on b of my 100 watts per channel amplifier, with the rp500ms and a 10 inch subwoofer.I am a 2 channel music person, not a home theater person but I am sure they would make fine 5.1 and 7.1 speakers as well.Without an equalizer, and with the tone controls of the amplifier at zero bass and treble boost ,the klipsch speakers have sufficient bass and treble in harmony with the subwoofer. I find the horn tweeters are fairly mild relative to sounding " bright and in your face " like some people describe klipsch speakers. I suppose they might be if someone pushed the midrange and tweeters with eq and tone control of the amplifier. One thing I have noticed about these speakers is they will expose poorly mastered and recorded music. They sound great with high quality audio sources but they will not sound good if the music is not well mastered and recorded like cheaper speakers will. Cheaper speakers don't expose poor studio mastered music like these do. One would be wise to ensure the recorded and mastered music is high quality in judging the sound of these speakers. They will not sound good without good audio input, and that is a good thing. A cheap and sorry audio input source will not sound good through these speakers. Why should it? They sound great when the recording and mastering is great.5 stars . They work well with rp500ms, as I have both new rp600ms and new rp500ms.
