Great Brewing Tool
I use this for fermenting beers that like warmer temperatures, so far I've used it for a saison and a mixed fermentation beer. It fits snuggly around a 1 gallon carboy and the highest setting is able to get the wort up to 85 degrees consistently. Build quality seems decent. It actually has a built in thermostat which is a great safety feature, plus it makes sure you don't accidentally overheat what you're fermenting. It's UL listed, so I'd definitely recommend spending the extra money for this one versus the cheaper ones.

This is a 2 gallon jar
I’m not complaining, I’m just glad to get some heat to my kombucha. The company said it would fit a two gallon jar. Well it just missed it by two or three inches. This heating belt really works so I’m a happy camper. Well this is me having used this heater in 2025 and I’m so thankful for it. I don’t know how I would have had kombucha if not for this heating belt! Kombucha is a necessity in my life . It and Milk kefir has gotten me off of insulin!!!

Essential in Brewing Kombucha
Essential in brewing Kombucha Tea by keeping a constant temperature. Has three setting for low, medium, and high depending on the environment your Kombucha jar is in. Easy to use and designed to wrap snugly around the jar while leaving room to see the temperature label attached to the side of the jar. I recommend this product.

Worked great, and good customer service
Quick Review: The temperature held steady and the Kombucha was great. :o)More full review:If I buy another heating mat for more bottles, I would likely buy this same one again. (Note on why I included the word "likely" below.)I like that the temperature can be adjusted. That is helpful for the changing seasons as well as for differences in bottles with 1st and 2nd ferment. (It can wrap around two of my second ferment bottles.)The first mat I received only worked on the High setting. Something in the controller was off so it wasn't working for the Low and Medium settings. I contacted the company (The Kombucha Shop) directly from their website and they were very helpful and quick in taking care of the issue. Great customer service! It is winter in Ohio and we keep our heat at 60. I put the bottles in the basement in an area that is actually cooler than the rest of the house (but dark and tucked away where the children can see the SCOBY grow, etc., but it isn't going to get brought down or filled with toys by the younger children). Anyhow, with the mat on it stayed a constant 78. (It could have gone higher, but I set it up to be at 78.)Actually when I first put it on (on high) and went out for a few hours it was at 80 and rising. My suggestion (with any mat) is to put it on and watch the temperature. Once you see where it heats to, you can then adjust it from there. When I had the mat that wasn't quite working right for the heat settings, I put chopsticks around the jar to pull the mat a bit off the jar. This worked for adjusting the temperature, but was more troublesome, and needed loosening or tightening the belt every time I wanted to add/remove a chopstick (which would cause all off the other chopsticks to fall). I'm glad to now have the temperature adjustment working.I also like that the mat is wide. Many mats are quite narrow or up to 3 inches. This one is wider and does a nice job of heating the whole jar. (Actually, I think I like the width even more than the temperature control.)As I am thinking of ordering another mat or two I would like to order two more of this same mat. The only hesitation I am having is that it is more expensive than other mats (due to being wider and having temperature control??). Finances are a consideration, so I am still back and forth on whether to order another one of these mats or to order a less expensive one. If I only had one mat, it would be this one. With having several, it may work to have some variety of mats.Good mat. Works well, even in a cool temperature environment. Holds a steady temperature. And... great customer service if something doesn't go quite right. :o)

Excellent Multi-Purpose Heating Pad
This heating pad with three heat setting did an excellent job keeping the kombucha in the correct temperature range. It can also be use to keep sourdough starter at the correct temperature when not making kombucha. Cheers

Really useful for making Kombucha
New to making my own Kombucha, I purchased this heater unit at the same time as their Kombucha Starter kit (see separate review), and I'm so glad I got this unit. It heats both fermentation processes to the ideal temp and does so consistently. It is winter here, and we keep the home a bit too cool for Kombucha (ideally, that product should be 78-80F). The blanket fits the starter kit bottle perfectly and helps the temp at the ideal range for the 10 days I used it for 1st process. Then, the bottles sit on the unit flattened out for 3 days (2nd fermentation). Worked like a charm. Why not spend a bit more and control this process ideally? Well worth the $$.

Good Buy
This thing is simple to use only (low, medium and high) gets tricky when determining what setting to set it at. It's literally dependent of the temperature you're at. Overnight when my house gets to 55F I have it set at medium and then on low during the day when my house is ~70F. (all winter time) I have not brewed kombucha during the summer but I'm sure it won't be used then. Just keep an eye on the temperature and adjust heat to maintain it in the sweet spot area and you'll get a feel for it. It doesn't have like an auto shit off feature or ever turns off unless you turn it off. I got a fancy 5 gallon temperature wrap that has a sensor and maintains exact temp but for this 1 gallon wrap is good.
