Stainless Steel Water Trough Automatic Drinking Bowl Horse Cattle Drinker for Horses Goats Sheep Cattle, 4L

My horse has now managed to destroy 2 automatic water drinkers, of the normal plastic variety. Hopefully this stainless steel one will be Lomé proof. Might be a little more difficult to clean out, as it doesn't have a hole with a plug in at the bottom. Will have to sponge the water out. The flap lifts up which means you can clean behind it, which is better.

I wanted a small simple stainless water trough for my pigs and this is the perfect size. When it arrived I discovered that it was identical to a non-stainless one I already have and this started the alarm bells. The ball cock in the old one would never cut off the water supply when full, resulting in water be wasted. I assumed it was not sealing because the rubber in the valve was old and so I replaced it with a ball cock with a larger float. This required a few modifications. Having plumbed in the new trough, I have the same problem. The float is not large enough to overcome my water pressure. I’m going to need a new ball cock
