I’ve been using this product for a few months now and so far I really like not having a greasy chain. I have to re-wax it after 12 rides and since I live in the desert dust is the issue but doesn’t seem to penetrate the waxed parts. So far my chain does not seem to be stretching on my specialized levo bike. but time will tell. The chain is very smooth and seems to give me more power.

This is not the cheapest solution to hot-wax immersion for bike chains but it sure is easy, so if you ride (and wax your chains) a lot, this is almost a no-brainer unless funds are really tight. It's pretty easy to overheat wax, and if you do it's not going to perform very well. This has very precise temperature control. The other stand-out feature is the hanging rack that extends over the pot. No more wax drips in random places that annoy the people you live with! This thing will make chain waxing so easy you'll wonder how you lived without it.

Like everyone I balked at getting this because of the price. Glad I finally did. It’s been a time/effort saver. Wasn’t expecting the excellent quality… you definitely get what you pay for.Stand is solid and weighty; Screw holes in stand are machined well and paint finish is high quality.The waxer unit is digital and has a memory. It remembers last setting which for me is great because I don’t have to mess with it every time(I previously bought a cheapie (WaxKiss) which has a knob). It’s in Celsius which makes it easier to remember what the correct temp should be… 75C for me as opposed to 167F or whatever is the Fahrenheit equivalent.Size of waxer is large; the cheapie I had bought I believe was 14 ounces. This seems like it’s 20 or so. Bigger is better.Also, the wire handle thing is great! No more wire hanger. It’s perfect for manipulating the chain while it’s in the pot. DON’T SUBMERGE IT. Saw a couple of YouTube vids where they put the whole thing in the wax…. Leave it above. It will stand up on its own. Read a review that said it fell apart after a few uses. I’m confident that if it happens, the company will send me another one.Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase. This has made chain waxing easy and hassle free and was worth it.

Works well and a lot less messy then doing in in a pan. It's nice to have a dedicated place to melt wax. The hanger works well is key.

I decided to start transitioning to waxing all of my bike chains. I used this system to wax two new chains over the weekend. This process is extremely easy with the SILCA system. I used their degreasing chips for these new chains. It took about 45 - 60 minutes to degrease and wax each chain and then let them cool. WOW! I rode my mountain bike yesterday and you COULD NOT hear the chain AT ALL. Amazing. And smooth. Assuming the waxing process holds up as suggested, this is well worth the investment.

Makes waxing your chain easy. It makes sense to buy this if you ride a lot or if you have multiple bikes and are waxing chains a lot.

Absolutely love this! I was just going to use our old slow cooker. This heats it up perfect and I just leave the wax cooled off in there for the next use. Plus the convenient hanger and holder for the chain are really nice touches. I thought the price was a little high for what it is but it was worth it to me.

You can probably get away with using a crock pot for hot waxing a chain, but I went ahead and bought this gadget. It's pretty easy to setup up, especially using it with the Solca Strip Chip since it's easy to set the temp at 125F, then back to 75F for the waxing process. I highly recommend it.
