Gripple Plant Support System - Starter Pack

These are a fantastic addition to the gardener's armoury. The system is a bit pricey, but it really works and stays put once in place. I have found that you can go back and re-tighten any that have loosened over time, meaning that they always hold their tension beautifully. They are really easy to use and with a bit of effort, easy to tighten (sometimes easier with 2 people to make sure you get the tension right).Even better than that, you can re-use the tensioner if you want to. You just feed the wire through until it is released and then use the tensioner again with new wire in a different location. This has been very useful to us when a plant no longer needs support or the tensioning wire needs to be put in a different place around the plant.I don't just use them to train fruit and veg on a cordon, I have also found they are brilliant for holding back shrubs which have been forced out of their normal position by wind or snow. All you need is a couple of anchor points and the job is done. They also protect large shrubs from wind damage by wrapping a length of the wire round the stems and branches of the whole plant, encompassing the fragile part. The plastic wire doesn't deteriorate in any way and the whole thing stays in the same condition as the day you put it in place regardless of what the weather has thrown at them - fabulous!Highly recommended, practical and last for a long time - and in a bulk pack, they are even more economical.

Nice alternative to a bulky wooden trellis. Easy to install. Good to create your own shape on walls and round window frames etc.Would be nice if white was an option other than black but a good product none the less.

Very good product but very expensive

Does the job, ideal for supporting bamboo fencing panels. Used the wires to attach the screening, keeping it free-standing so that shared panels behind can be replaced without disturbing the bamboo!

Good quality but a tad expensive

Really easy to use. I fact the hardest part is getting the packaging open.I’ve used it in my greenhouse as a support for my cucumbers. It took less than 5 minutes to install.I have plenty of cable left over, so I’ve bought some more tensioners and am going to make a trellis for my clematis. I expect it will take a little longer to install as I’ll have to do some drilling to create a few anchor points, but once they are in, it will be a two minute job securing the wiring.

We bought a couple of these kits for our handyman to put up for us. Disappointingly there weren't really enough hooks and accessories given the amount of wire, so I'd suggest purchasing extra. Otherwise a good, sturdy and quality item.

I bought this product and the connectors years ago. I love it and have reordered it, shared it with friends, and told people where to buy it. It's so easy to use, lasts well through the varied UK seasons. I haven't had to replace the cable or connectors, they haven't perished over the years, and they support heavy bushes and climbers now in snow and rain and have never failed. Highly recommended.
