The Island Villa: A Novel

Weddings are not for the faint-hearted
Who better to write about a best-selling author than one who also has reached that particular pinnacle? But this tale is about more than that. Namely, parent-child relationships and how each partner in that duo can see the same events so very differently; that friendships can harbor deeper feelings and yet remain unrecognized for years; and that second chances at love are deserved by all, no matter their ages or the number of marriages they have endured.A timeless story that rings true in so many ways.

They say, all is well that ends well! and that’s what happened with this story.
It was not my favorite book by Sarah Morgan but I’m sure readers will find A lot to think about and enjoy!

The Island Villa
I love Sarah Morgan as an author. Her books are amazing. This one is too! I really wondered in the first 75 to 90 pages how she was going to reconcile these characters but in her magnificent way she finds a way for each to achieve peace and acceptance. She opened my eyes to a new way of thinking also! Always a bonus! If you're even a little into romance and/or family issues you will enjoy this book. When you think there's NO WAY there can be a remotely happy result here....

Not a typical romance - but brilliant!
Lots of highs and very low...low's in this story. But very heartfelt and true that it will grab your heart and wring it out. Love all the characters - some of them are SO yummy! - but really a book that makes you think and cheer and jeer at the characters. The setting is gorgeous and I want to be on that lanai. Really good story that kept me reading.

Best Sarah Morgan book yet!
I have read every book by Sarah Morgan and love her characters. The Island Villa is no exception and actually exceeds her previous books. Especially loved the surprise near the end which helped in understanding all the complexities between the main characters. Great read and loved visiting Greece vicariously through her descriptive writing. Great job and can’t wait for your next book.

Romance author but a romance failure in real life
Catherine Swift is a bestselling author with a secret to hide. She is also planning her fourth wedding, estranged from one daughter and close with the other. She was born to tell stories and that is what she’s done for most of her adult life. Now is the time though, to change that thought process and start putting her true self out there for the world to see. Starting with her family.Adeline isn’t close with her mother, not since she sent her to live with her dad, who was also devastated after their divorce. Her mother had an affair, got pregnant, had a new baby, and got remarried. That would have to be the reason she was sent away, right? Feeling abandoned by her mother and half sister, she started therapy and that’s when she decided to become a psychiatrist. That career morphed into an advice column, a highly successful advice column. She thrived with structure and routine, who needs love and excitement, but the pains of the past still show their ugly faces on occasion. Today’s demon comes in the shape of a wedding invitation from her mother. Can she attend one more of her mother’s weddings and keep her sanity?Cassie is excited to attend her mother’s wedding. Love is a beautiful thing, told to her over and over by her mother’s stories. Her favorite and most treasured story is the love affair between her parents. She knows their affair caused pain to Adeline and Andrew, Adeline’s father, but their love was destined to be. Her mother was devastated when he died when Cassie was 3 years old, further sealing their love story for the ages. Cassie can’t wait to experience that type of great love, she was a hopeless romantic. Cassie wishes she could have a closer relationship with her sister (no half where she is concerned) but doesn’t know if the relationship can be fixed after all these years. The three women gather together on Corfu for what promises to be one heck of a reunion. Can they work out the pains of the past to secure their future as a family?I am a huge fan of Sarah Morgan, her books weave wonderful tails of characters and locations I feel like I am directly a part of. This latest release wasn’t quite as powerful for me. The story felt a little “off” for lack of a better term. It was almost like a new writer’s beginning stories than the accomplished writer I know Ms. Morgan to be. The story was interesting but the parts I felt needed more explanation were rushed and the mundane details that could be glossed over were drawn out. Don’t get me wrong, the story was still a great adventure, it just wasn’t up to the luxury I usually feel while engrossed in a Sarah Morgan novel.

The importance of family
I throughly enjoyed this story about family and forgiveness. Cassie was my favorite character, and I'm glad that her and Adeline became closer. Good story with a happy ending

Comfortably predictable
Always enjoy a Sarah Morgan book and this one was perfect for summer. While I knew what was going to happen before I turned to the next page, I was okay with that just like I am with Hallmark Christmas movies.
