Car Auto Cane and Standing Aid Safety Handle

I ordered this on the advice of a friend who had used it after foot surgery. All of our vehicles are 4-wheel drive, so they have a large ground clearance and I am short. Even though our Jeep Grand Cherokee has side steps, they weren't going to help me get into the Jeep. I am very short, 5'2", so I needed something to help me boost my good leg, since I was having foot surgery and was not going to be able to put weight on my left foot while trying to get up into the Jeep. I was able to use this tool to give me that leverage I needed to hoist myself up just enough to grab the handle and pull myself up and in. So it was well worth the small price to give me that extra leverage. Had Jeep put a handle on the A post in the Grand Cherokee, I wouldn't have had this problem, but they don't. They just have the handle above the door. But this tool helped me get in without that. It is super strong. I put all my weight on that side when I leaned on it to pull myself up and it was solid. Super easy to carry it in the door of the Jeep. I keep it there permanently to make up for the lack of a grab handle on the A post! Oh, and I checked, Jeep doesn't even make a handle for that A post, so I would have to get some third party one. Sure wish they would fix that!

Originally bought one for my father to try out in his car. He loves it. Bought a second one two days later for his other car. Now he has one in each vehicle. He shows anyone who is near how great it is. He gets out of the seat and has them try it. He makes me chuckle. It makes it so much easier for him to get out now. He has had, knee and shoulder replaced. Multiple back surgeries. He no longer struggles to get out of the vehicle. Great product.

This device is very helpful and it really assists in getting me out of my childs car without straining my bad knee. I do think that if the 'notch' in the cane were slightly deeper it would be better, and maybe a piece of rubbed to sit in there also. I did notice that on occasion the cane would slip when placed on the u shaped door latch. I think if the notch was made deeper in the tool this would not happen.

This is the 5th one of these handles I have bought. The first was for my husband after he had Guillain Barre and getting in and out of the car was difficult during recovery. Since then I've given them to friends with Parkinson's, strokes and just general debility. The gadjet is small, inexpensive and lightweight but incredibly strong. It hooks into the doorlatch of the car, and then you grab it and lean your weight on it while you get into or out of the car, It provides and extra point of balance and allows the person to lower his or her weight down onto the car seat. Some models have seatbelt cutters and window smashers in the handle end, but I like this simple one. It does the job.

This handle is amazing! It hooks right in to the side of the car and is so strong and supportive! Whoever invented this is a genius and really understands what a disabled person needs. It helps me comfortably and safely get out of the car. I highly recommend it!

I think the idea of this product is great. I will try it on other cars but on my Honda door , it doesn't fit very tight. A tiny bit wobbly

I bought this for my mother in law because she has had an amputation and thought this would help her to get in and out of her truck. My dad had knee replacement surgery, so he ended up with it for a couple weeks. This thing is amazing!!! Super handy, easy to use, helped immensely!!! I recommend this for anyone that may have trouble getting up into and out of any vehicle.
