Very happy with purchase. Brought for my dad. Perfect for his collection. Another one added to the collection.

I was surprised that this came with an unattractive coating of sparkly silver paint on it. It felt very cheap and nasty. But with a bit of effort I managed to remove all traces of the silver coating and i then polished the revealed aluminium of the whistle and it became a really lovely thing. It plays flat throughout its range with a slight improvement once it is warm. But a nice whistle once sorted. Certainly worth 15 quid if you are prepared to do what I did. I[f not then I would not recommend that you buy it.]

I've been playing whistles and Uilleann pipes for years. I'm not brilliant, just competent. I would say that this whistle would be awkward for a beginner. It's a nicely made one-piece and looks good. The tone is fine, but it's slightly difficult to play at first, which might put a beginner off. I'd recommend a Clarke whistle as a starter.
