Never really knew how a trailer electrical brake worked. Once I saw this I'm a bit hesitant in believing that these brakes really work at all. Trailer brakes are only drag brakes and not meant to stop anything but the mechanisms and Design seem rather suspicious house how they really do work. The old brakes and drum that I removed the magnet actually had ruined the drums possibly because of a lack of maintenance but when the magnet is designed to drag across the face of the drum I almost considered this a bad engineering design. Maybe the magnet should only draw near to the drum as you apply the brakes but I believe often times that magnet actually comes in contact with the drum thereby creating friction and damage. Maybe I set my brake controller to too much force , but either way I've gotten about 30k out of these brakes and drums before I change them so maybe this is how and when they were supposed to wear out. But even so I'm glad I changed them and now I have fresh brakes drums plates mechanisms magnets and ready to do another 30k. These do seem like an exact oh yeah meme replacement part. But remember there is a left side and right side so don't order two of the same one thinking you're doing the whole axle product description does kind of hint towards the need for left and right but just saying

Upgraded 5th wheel brakes to self adjusting. These brakes were super easy to install and all the hardware was there (nuts, lock washers and electrical connector. Cut two (or three) electrical wires, remove four bolts and off they come after removing the hub of course. If your looking for some great brakes at a great price... here you go! Minor adjustments are necessary, as well as "burnishing in" the brakes after installation.

The parts are all factory parts, and for the price it makes no sense to just buy brake shoes if your RV shoes need servicing. You get the whole deal for only marginally more than the shoes alone. No contest.

works great. took all of 15 minutes to install, including splicing the brake wiring.

I bought these for both axles of my cargo trailer. Although I had to torch the old units off, these new kits were very easy to install. The only issue I had was that one of them came from a different fulfillment centre, it was slightly different but still had the same part#, and did not have new nuts and washers like the rest of them had...luckily I had some in my bolt bin that fit.

The rear 4 bolt pattern for attaching to the axle was different (the distance between studs was smaller). I end up using an old backing plate and I used only new shoes from this product. I have Jaco Eagle.

Happy with item but do not order from this supplier if you need it quickly. I ordered it July 7 and did not arrive until July 19. That was even with Amazon prime. Hence the 3 stars.

Purchased for 21' travel trailer. Came with mounting hardware & electrical connectors. Quality brake assembly replacement.

Direct fit and very easy install. So far so good. I'm not going to miss adjusting the brakes every 3k!!
