5+++
I would give this item 10 stars if I could.I bought a gallon bottle of water the other day and I couldn't open it! I tried all ways and I'm not the delicate type. I usually do a lot of hard stuff around the house and garden. Unfortunately it's one of those simple tasks that remind you that you're not fifty anymore... I had to leave the gallon water aside and open one of the single bottles instead.Then I found this item on Amazon and I decided to give it a try. I'm soooo pleased with it! I immediately grabbed the infamous water bottle and I could open it with zero effort! It was just as if it was already open (and it wasn't).I'm also tickled that it has a feature for opening beverage and cat food cans. Those that you have to lift the flap. I have been using a knife for that, but now I have a dedicated tool that will open anything for me. I can't wait to test it on all sorts of cans! It's like having my young hands back and more!

No more frustrating lids!
When I saw this weird looking thing I was going to return it, thinking it would take up too much space in my drawer. I tried it once, just to be sure. It works amazingly well! No more pounding the edges of jars or twisting lids in vain. Place this thing around the lid, a gentle twist, Voila! It’s big and solid but does the job. I got rid of some other things and found room for it.

Love this thing!!
This thing is terrific! I am a 74 year old lady with no issues with arthritis, & I have been forever battling opening new bottles or reopening foods that glue themselves shut in jars and bottles. The usual routine is to beat the top with a knife handle, struggle to get the lid to open, beat it some more & finally work it loose. Negative reviews prevented me from ordering one of these sooner. My husband got it and I love it! Remember righty tighty lefty loosy…..you push it away from yourself. Sometimes it works best to lay the bottle or jar on its side with lid over sink. Highly recommend!!

A little too small for some kitchen jobs
This is a tried and true design but this particular version is a little too msall at the big end. It works fine for bottles and small jars but was helpless opening a jar of Talenti gelato--- the gadget was about a quarter inch too narrow to get around the Talentia top. Our previous very similar version of this same gadget was big enough to do that job. We assumed this one would do the same job but it doesn't. We'll keep it because it's fine for small jobs, but still disappointing.

Very affordable
I’ve always had a hard time opening jars and bottles. I even tried the thin rubber ones where you place it on the jar and try to open the lid. But usually that didn’t work. I purchased this and tried it and it was so easy and fast, I was able to open the lid. Love the product.

Useful gift!
I purchased this for my mom who is 78 and has rheumatoid arthritis. She loves it and uses it daily. She said it even works on squeeze type caps like the ones on toilet bowl cleaners.

Not large enough for most jars...
This has so far been useless for opening jars, I find it hurts my hands more to try to figure this thing out, than to just smack the jar a few times on the counter and use oven mitts with a good grip on them. And it doesn't fit Any salsa jars.However - it was absolutely helpful when I needed to removed the casing from a reverse osmosis filter...Still took over an hour of struggling and invoking superman, but eventually got the damn thing apart.I'll keep it around, it might be useful for something again someday...

Decent product
This will work to open a jar, but it does require pretty good hand strength to do it.
