My application needed different ends on the wires.
This came with ring-style connectors on the wires and my application needed insulated spade connectors. It took all of about 5 minutes to change them. In my case, the control unit fit perfectly under the main electrical cover. This works great. Just make sure that you read the instructions for the wireless remotes. They require you to hold the power button for 3 seconds for the controller to work. They also shut off automatically after a certain time period. This is a great safety feature and battery saver. I can see how some people could not get them to work, though. AGAIN...READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. The remotes have a good range and are small enough to fit in a pocket yet, large enough not to get lost easily.

Never work when you need them
Suffers from 2 big design flaws:1. No indication of whether they are on or off, other than trying to use them2. Less common battery that you need a screw driver to changeThe installation went well, and they worked initially. But when I needed the winch - and when you need a winch you NEED a winch - the batteries on both remotes were dead. Had to hunt down a small phillips head screwdriver to try to change the batteries, just to find that they take a battery I don't have laying around because it's just not a common type like AA or AAA, etc. Had to operate without remotes until I got the proper batteries. When I changed them, things seemed to work fine. I double and triple checked that I turned them off and thought that would be it....until the next time I needed the winch. Guess what? They didn't work again. This time when I changed the battery on one of them it still didn't work.So they're going in the garbage because they never work when I need them.DON'T BUY THESE IF YOU ACTUALLY NEED REMOTES TO WORK WHEN YOU NEED YOUR WINCH.

Good price, decent quality
I haven’t gotten to install it yet but it seems decently built and should work fine.

Inexpensive and easy to install
Inexpensive and easy to install. The whole process took less than an hour and I didn't have to cut the factory wiring harness. I'm not sure of the max range, but I had no problems using it from 50 ft away (length of my winch cable).

After releasing button, either direction it continues running for one or 2 more seconds.
It works but when you press the buttons in either direction and release the button, it continues running for one or 2 more seconds. If it would stop immediately when you released the button it would be fine. It caused me to snap my winch cable because it was almost all the way in when I pressed the in button and it continued to run until the cable snapped off the hook.
