Strong and well-made, perfect for magnetic bottle opener!
These magnets are incredibly strong. I purchased them to make a Magnetic Beer Bottle Opener and they worked perfectly. If you're interested in plans for that, check out [...] ... you just need a piece of 1x4 wood, a 2" Forstner drill bit for the hole in the back of the wood for the magnet, and a little Liquid Nails to hold it in place. I put a piece of black felt over the magnet to cover up all traces and it works great.Regardless of what you buy these magnets for, they'll work great, but BE CAREFUL. Wear eye protection if possible in case they get attracted to a nearby metal object and shatter, and only pull them out of the packaging when you're ready to use them.

I'm very pleased with the performance
i used the magnet in a recessed wood "head with an angled handle for picking up spent shotgun shells. most modern shot shells have only a tiny primer that is partially steel and the unit will still pick up 7 shells at a time.I used the magnet in a recessed head made of wood to protect the magnet and put an angled handle on it for picking up spent shotgun shells.the shells only have a tiny ammount of steel in the primer but the magnet will pick up 7 at a time. I'm very pleased with the performance.

Magnet was not so strong as the ones I got from inside a hard disk drive. This was weaker then I expected.

Very Powerful Rare Earth Magnets
I was very pleased with these unexpectedly powerful neodymium magnets which were nickel coated for both product and user protection. They served very well my intended use of producing measurable paramagnetic and diamagnetic forces on gold, silver, tungsten, and water. These are NOT TOYS and should be kept away from children 12-years and younger. The larger sizes should only be handled by adults. For example, a pair of 1" by 1" cylinder magnets painfully pinched my fingers when I carelessly placed them together, and I later needed a small vice and pliers to separate them! Be sure to heed the warnings about powerful rare earth magnets (especially those one-half inch and larger) sent in a separate email to buyers during product transit. They are not exaggerating!

he'll be able to bend the bars in his cage like superman, so I'll have other things to worry ...
My African Grey parrot had taken up a new hobby of weight training by picking up his food dish out of the rack and dumping it on the floor of his cage. Magnet on rack.. food dish on magnet. if he ever gets strong enough to move the dish in the future, he'll be able to bend the bars in his cage like superman, so I'll have other things to worry about then.

like I was afraid of these when I was handling ...
Used these for making hardwood Beer Bottle Openers (like a DropCatch). They are ridiculously strong, like I was afraid of these when I was handling them. They are magnetized through the thickness, so they are strongest at their center (which I love, and is better than the other kind you can get that are magnetized on opposite edges, so those are strongest at the rim).Long story short, I'll get more of these, even if they are a few bucks more than the cheaper alternative.

Strong solid magnet!
I got this to experiment further with my magnetic levitation base. This magnet is stronger than the one included with the maglev base I purchased separately, and allows heavier objects to levitate with better torsional stability. Very nice!
