I've always wanted to draw but was told, many years ago, that you needed to have artistic ability and as most of my friends could draw I never really considered the possibility that I might be able to learn. Then I stumbled on Stephanie Bower's book 'Understanding Perspective' and soon after enrolled on her Blueprint course 'The essientials of Sketchings Architecture'. 101 Sketchings Tips is an amazing book and an excellent companion to the aforementioned course. Apart from the advice to budding artists the contents is a joy to behold and has introduced me to the work a great many artists that were previously unknown to me. If you're concerned about the ridiculous remark made by a previous reviewer that there are no women represented in this book then don't be...or are Stephanie, Sue, katie, Angela, to list but a few actually boys names? This book and the other above mentioned have put me firmly on a very absorbing pastime. Highly recommend.

This book is one of a very good series on the subject of urban sketching, and I think this book is the best of the lot.As the name suggests, it offers a wide range of practical tips which a newcomer to urban sketching will find useful. However, I think its greatest asset is the quality of the sketches in the book, especially those by the author herself. I know that I am unlikely to reach this standard but I find the work inspirational and I am determined to have fun trying. The nice thing about drawing is that you only need a pencil and paper, and if your drawing is not very good you know that the next one will be better

This is an excellent little book in the urban sketchers handbook series, Stephanie Bower is a great great tutor and all of the tips in this book are amazing. The sketches by Stephanie and other sketches really show the tips that she is expressing. I think the book is of value not only to urban sketchers but anyone who likes to draw highly recommended

I thought this book was spiral bound

This is a lovely book packed full of tips and includes work from a variety of artists . Its the kind of book I'm sure I will dip into time and time again. This is an excellent series and so far hjas not disappointed. treat yourself

Great Value for money, really well presented and very useful to any beginners in sketching and drawing architecture.

This is a great book. Inspiring, compact and digestible. A great way to be motivated to just get out there and sketch!

I love sketching it on the go and used it in Capturing some parts of our trip to Curacao Enduring several Long road trips. I used it a lot.! It's a terrific way to learn how to capture what you're really seeing.

Francamente en cuanto al contenido no podría opinar aún no he empezado a leerlo pero lo vi un poco y se ve interesante.Viene en Inglés, en el caso de no saber este idioma posiblemente batalles un poco, si sabes algo de ingles como yo será muy intuitivo( bueno tomando en cuenta de que solo leí poco).Y si viene muy de bolsillo muy práctico para traerlo de en la mochila o bolsa. Francamente para mí fue una buen compra :) espero que para los demás también

Really good for motivation and as a handbook sitting in a caffe and sketching what you see and using rules in a book. Not a big book which is great and also good read and informative. It's just the tips book so don't expect to learn everything or any subject in depth. Really good as a present

Sono una principiante dello urban sketching, anche se ho studiato disegno a scuola con un prof di architettura ed ho buone basi. Ho trovato il libro pieno di ottimi spunti di riflessione, e sono certa che continuerò a rileggerlo tante volte, perché i suggerimenti sono veramente tanti e si apprezzano solo mettendoli a poco a poco in pratica. Lo consiglio!

Un fantástico libro de técnicas y trucos muy útiles para los aficionados al sketching. Además de su fantástico sistema de presentación de contenidos que resulta muy atractivo para su estudio. Ya tengo otros volúmenes de la colección y los recomiendo.
